The Fouga CM.170 Magister is a French two-seat jet trainer that first flew at the start of the 1950s and was among the first jet trainers to be built in series at all. Its unmistakable recognition features are the butterfly tail in the shape of a V and the pair of small Turbomeca Marboré turbojets housed in the rear fuselage. Besides the French Air Force the Magister served with a whole range of other European operators, where it filled the role of a basic as well as an advanced training machine and in some countries that of a light attack aircraft too.
Try the parts together dry before gluing, especially the joint of the fuselage halves and the leading edges of the butterfly surfaces. Glue with thin cement for polystyrene, which runs into the seam by capillary action, fill the resulting grooves and sand them back with a fine sanding sponge. Apply a filler primer before painting, which will reveal any remaining marks. Mask the cockpit glazing thoroughly, apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and prepare gloss varnish under the decals. Once it has dried, even the surface out with matte or semi-gloss varnish according to the scheme you have chosen.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
