The E-50 Flakpanzer 1:72 from Trumpeter is a plastic kit of the hypothetical German anti-aircraft tank derived from the E-50 standard tank project.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit captures the German E-50 Flakpanzer anti-aircraft tank, a vehicle from the circle of what are called paper projects and concepts of late German equipment that were never actually built. The model has a lower part count, it goes together easily and quickly, and it suits collectors of what-if subjects as well as beginning modelers in the small scale.
The E (Entwicklung) series of standard tanks was meant to bring German tank production together into a few weight categories at the end of the war. The E-50 type fell into the heavier class and its hull drew on the dimensions of the Tiger II tank. The Flakpanzer version is a concept for an anti-aircraft vehicle on that chassis; like the whole E series it stayed at the stage of design studies and series production and deployment never came about.
Assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks before finishing the hull. Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement. Put on a primer undercoat; with what-if subjects you have a free hand in choosing the camouflage, and the late war German three-tone schemes suggest themselves. Bring out the wear, the panel lines and the dust with washes and pigments, especially on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
