German tank barrel 8.8 cm KwK 36 for Tiger I is a turned metal barrel from the maker Aber in 1:72 scale for models of the Tiger I heavy tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a model of a tank but a turned metal replacement barrel for the 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun. It replaces the plastic barrel from the kit with a faithfully shaped metal part with a drilled muzzle and accurate geometry. It is intended for models of the German Tiger I heavy tank in 1:72 scale. Aber is a Polish maker specializing in turned barrels and photo-etched accessories.
The 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun was the main armament of the Tiger I tank, in action from 1942. Derived from the famous 8.8 cm anti-aircraft gun, it could destroy Allied vehicles at long range and became the symbol of the feared Tiger. The cylindrical barrel with its double-baffle muzzle brake has a characteristic silhouette.
Cut off the plastic barrel from the kit and clean the area up, then seat the metal one and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Metal holds its shape and does not warp the way thin plastic does. Degrease the surface before painting and use a base coat suitable for metal; an airbrush will give a smooth transition of shades.
This is a metal accessory, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
