Gloster E28/39 Pioneer spray mask in 1:72 scale (Peewit)

A set of self-adhesive, precisely pre-cut masks from the Czech brand Peewit intended for masking the cockpit glazing while spraying. The masks copy the glazing frames of the Gloster E28/39 model in 1:72 scale and allow clean color transitions. It is an accessory to a model, not a kit.

The real subject

The Gloster E28/39 Pioneer was the first British aircraft with a jet engine, which flew in 1941 with the engine of the designer Frank Whittle. It was an experimental machine that proved jet propulsion in practice and opened the way to British jet fighters.

Use

• Transfer the masks from the sheet and seat them exactly on the glazing frames.
• Cover the gaps between the frames with offcuts of film or with liquid mask.
• Spray in thin coats to prevent the paint creeping under.
• Take the masks off while the paint is tacky for a sharp transition.
