Gloster E.28/39 1:72 wheel set is a resin accessory that replaces the wheels from a kit with more faithful castings. It is not a model of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
Replacement wheels for a model of the first British jet aircraft. It is not a kit but a detail accessory. Cast wheels as a rule have a crisper tread, more legible hub detail and a more even shape than parts from a sprue, on which the mold parting line tends to show. The exact number of parts, and whether the tires are rendered under load, are shown by the illustration on the packaging.
The Gloster E.28/39 was a single-seat research aircraft on which the British first tried jet propulsion in the air. It had a short stubby fuselage, a straight low wing and nosewheel landing gear, an arrangement that soon became the standard for jets. The landing gear is clearly visible on a model of this type, because the aircraft sat low on the ground and the wheels are not hidden in deep bays. Two prototypes were built, used purely for trials.
Start by washing the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent is removed and the paint will hold. Cut the casting block off with a saw as close as possible to the contact surface and sand it level, so that the model stands straight on all its wheels. Do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate. For a clean separation of the hub from the tire, masking templates or patient work with a fine brush both help. Do not spray the tires pure black but a darkened gray, which reads more naturally at reduced scale. A light touch of dust pigment on the tread settles the model into its setting.
This is a modeling accessory. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
