Heinkel He 111P-2 painting masks (1:72, AML)

Self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech manufacturer AML for a model of the Heinkel He 111P-2 in 1:72 scale. The masks define the dividing lines of the upper-surface camouflage scheme exactly, thanks to which even the larger areas of a bomber can be painted quickly and with crisp transitions.

The real subject

The Heinkel He 111 was a German twin-engine medium bomber with a characteristic fully glazed nose. The P version was powered by Daimler-Benz DB 601 inverted V12 engines. The He 111 was the main striking force of the Luftwaffe in the opening campaigns of the Second World War and in the raids on Britain.

Use

• Stick the masks onto the dried base coat and press the edges down carefully against paint creeping underneath.
• Spray the contrasting shade with an airbrush coat by coat; take the mask off while the finish is still fresh.
• For the softer transitions typical of the Luftwaffe, overspray lightly across a lifted edge of the mask.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building German bombers of the Second World War in 1:72.
• Those who want an exact and symmetrical camouflage scheme without drawing it.

This is a masking aid, not a model and not paints. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
