A resin detail set of wheels intended for models of the Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1 and Yak-3 fighters in 1:48 scale. The precisely cast parts replace the plastic wheels from the box and have a fine tire tread and a faithful hub shape. This is an aftermarket accessory, not an airplane model.
The Yak-1 and the light Yak-3 developed from it were among the most successful Soviet fighters of the Second World War. They were agile, climbed well and were popular with pilots on the Eastern Front. Faithfully rendered wheels give the model the right sense of sitting on the runway.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting stubs and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The tires stand out in a matte black-gray with a light wash, and the hubs in a shade matching the chosen version.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. This is not a standalone model but a detail set; glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
