This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard concentrates on the exterior details of a plastic model of the Grumman Hellcat Mk.II carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a model or a kit, but an accessory that adds fine metal elements to the surface of the airframe, for instance grilles, landing gear elements, covers and other small items that plastic captures only in simplified form.
The Grumman Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War. The Mk.II designation was used by the Fleet Air Arm for the later production version of this successful and durable machine, which earned an outstanding combat reputation in the Pacific.
Separate the small photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends with tweezers or a bending tool. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) to bond metal to plastic. Before painting, degrease the metal and spray it with primer, which will give the paint something to hold on to.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
