A finished collector model of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter in the Mk II version, done in Iranian Air Force markings of the postwar period. The model comes from the factory assembled and painted, national insignia included, so building and spraying both fall away. It is enough to unpack it and stand it in a display case.
The Hurricane was a single-seat single-engine fighter with a low wing and of mixed construction, in which the basis of the fuselage was a framework of steel tubes with a covering. The Mk II version received a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX series powerplant and during production it divided into several sub-versions, which differed mainly in the make-up of the armament and in equipment. The type was marked by its wide-track landing gear and a fairly thick wing profile, thanks to which it was stable and easy to repair. After the Second World War Hurricanes entered service with a number of states outside Europe, where they served for several more years before more modern aircraft replaced them.
The model is painted in a factory standard, has the insignia applied and comes with a clear cockpit canopy fitted. In 1:72 scale it takes up little room in a display case, so it can be stood beside other machines of the same era and the silhouettes and the sizes of the individual types compared. The model benefits from an enclosed display case, because settled dust is harder to remove from small details than from smooth surfaces. Wipe it only with a soft dry brush, do not use water or cleaning agents and do not expose it permanently to direct sun, which gradually changes the shade of the colors and of the plastic.
