A decal sheet for the Soviet Polikarpov I-16 type 24 fighter in 1:72 scale, part one.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for the Soviet I-16 fighter in the type 24 version, marked as the first part. The markings and emblems decide how a model finally looks; a sheet devoted to a single version tends to be drawn more accurately than a general supplement to a kit and offers a wider choice of machines. The number of options and how they are allotted are given in the maker's instructions.
The I-16 was a Soviet single-seat fighter with a low wing, a radial engine, retractable landing gear and a strikingly short fuselage. In its day it was among the most advanced fighters in design and the Soviet Union entered the Second World War with it. Type 24 belongs to the later batches of the machine.
Sheets of this kind are usually applied as waterslide decals: level the area beneath them with gloss varnish, trim the motif close to the artwork, immerse it briefly in lukewarm water and, once it has released from the backing paper, move it into place. Straighten it with a soft brush, blot the surplus water away and let it dry undisturbed; matte varnish is then taken over the dried decals. Before you soak the sheet, though, check in the instructions whether it is an adhesive type. An adhesive film that has been soaked is ruined beyond saving, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later.
The aircraft kit, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
