A collector's model of a Japanese defensive bunker from the island of Peleliu (Palau) of the Second World War in 1:72 scale from ROP o.s. The casting is made as a plaster body with resin parts and is intended to be glued and painted. It is a piece for collectors of fortifications and builders of dioramas from the Pacific theater, better suited to more experienced modelers because of the work with resin.
In 1944 the island of Peleliu in the Palau archipelago became the scene of one of the bloodiest battles of the war in the Pacific. The Japanese defense there made use of concrete bunkers, caves and fortified firing positions, which the American Marines had to fight hard to take. The subject of the model is a typical Japanese reinforced concrete defensive object of this battlefield.
Wash the resin and plaster parts, clean them up and glue them with super glue. Concrete is imitated with a grayish base and sandy glazes; apply a wash into the recesses and bring out the edges with drybrushing. Battle damage and the traces of hits are finished with pigments and dark washes, and the surrounding ground can be completed with sand and tropical vegetation.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
