The basic grade of the New Ware cut masking set for a Voodoo model in 1:72 scale. The set contains self-adhesive film with the shapes ready cut and is cut for a particular kit in this scale. The manufacturer offers three grades for this type, differing in how much they cover. The BASIC grade is the smallest of them.
The frames of a canopy in 1:72 scale are as thin as a hair. Painting them with a brush means an uneven line and a build-up of paint that visually thickens the frame. Hand-cut tape, in turn, waves along the edge on a curved blister and lifts at the corners. A cut mask is ready made, it fits the shape and carries the line evenly along its whole length, so that the canopy looks thin and clean even after spraying.
Before you start, clean the canopy of fingerprints and grease. Lift the individual pieces off the sheet with a sharp point and lay them in the middle of the area, and only then smooth them out to the edges. On slightly convex areas it helps to warm the film with hot air from an ordinary hairdryer on a low setting; the material relaxes and follows the shape better. Cover the free areas outside the mask with ordinary tape or with liquid mask.
The package contains the masking film only. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
