The basic grade of the cut New Ware mask set for the reconnaissance version of the Voodoo in 1:72 scale. The package holds a self-adhesive film with ready-made shapes. It is an aftermarket accessory, not a kit.
The reconnaissance form differs from the fighter version in the treatment of the forward airframe, and therefore in the shape and placement of the glazed areas. A mask cut for the fighter version would consequently fit a reconnaissance example only in part. For that reason the manufacturer releases both sets separately, even though they concern the same type of aircraft. When ordering, therefore, make sure which version you are building.
It pays to keep to the order of work. First assemble and sand the model completely, then apply the mask to clean glazing, and only then spray the primer and the paint. When masking is done after spraying, the adhesive pulls at soft finish. Once the mask is off, check the edge against the light and scrape any minimal creep away with the tip of a toothpick, which does not scratch the finish as easily as metal. Throw masks away as soon as they are removed; a second time they will not adhere reliably and at a second attempt paint usually creeps underneath.
The package holds only the masking film. Paints, glue and a kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
