Exito decals 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf109G-6 Gustavs Over The Balkans is a sheet of water-slide decals with three schemes of aircraft used in the Balkans and in southern Europe.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of classic water-slide decals from the Polish maker Exito decals for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory with which an already built model can be given markings that are not usually found in a box. The printing is done by the Italian printer Cartograf, so the sheet has a thin carrier film, accurate registration and good adhesion.
The set covers three aircraft used in 1944 in southeastern Europe, specifically machines operating from Romania, from Croatia and from southern Italy. According to the manufacturer two of these schemes have not been produced as decals before, and the third has stayed out of the spotlight. A bonus is the insignia of the Romanian 9th Fighter Group. The instructions take the form of color profiles with the camouflage and the placing of the individual decals drawn out.
Prepare the surface with a gloss varnish, because on a matte surface silvering will appear under the decal. Cut the motif out closely, soak it in lukewarm water and let it rest for a while, until it starts to slide freely on the backing. On engraving and busy surfaces a decal softener helps, as it draws the decal into the detail. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residue off and even the surface out with a matte varnish. In 1:72 scale work with tweezers and a soft brush, because the small stencils shift easily.
This is a set of decals, not a kit. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
