A kit of a 28 cm heavy howitzer of the Imperial Japanese Army in 1:72 scale, according to the name supplemented by a figure of General Nogi and six artillerymen.
Responsibility details are not available.
The 28 cm howitzer was among the heaviest weapons the Imperial Japanese Army put into the field. Originally it was a coastal defense gun, which proved decisive only in the land siege role: the fire of its heavy shells could break through concrete fortifications and it made its name at the siege of Port Arthur in 1904 and 1905. The Japanese forces at Port Arthur were commanded by General Nogi Maresuke, whose name this set also carries.
According to the name this is a kit of the howitzer in 1:72 scale supplemented by figures, namely General Nogi and six artillerymen, that is seven figures in all. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The number of parts, the arrangement of the figures and the recommended assembly sequence are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Try the assembly dry first and sand the mating surfaces, so that the carriage stands level. Choose the kind of glue according to the material of the parts: parts that are not polystyrene call for cyanoacrylate glue. Figures in 1:72 scale are easier to paint before being glued to a base; faces and hands can be managed with one shade and a darker tone in the folds. A whole scene is held together by uniform lighting, so paint the howitzer and the figures from the same palette of shades.
Paints, glue, a base and groundwork accessories are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The extent of the parts supplied is given in the manufacturer's description.
