Avalon 1:72 Skyraiders in FAA is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale for models of the Douglas Skyraider in the service of the British Fleet Air Arm. It is an accessory for a finished kit, not the model itself.

A set of decals in 1:72 scale meant for models of the Douglas Skyraider aircraft in the colors of the British naval aviation, the Fleet Air Arm. In the package there is a decal sheet, not plastic parts; the base kit has to be bought separately. The accessory makes sense wherever the markings from the box are not enough, or where you want to build the machine in British rather than American service.
The Douglas Skyraider was a single-engined carrier aircraft with a piston engine, designed at the close of the Second World War. Thanks to a large load under the wing and long endurance it stayed in service well into the jet era. The Fleet Air Arm, that is, the air arm of the Royal Navy, operated Skyraiders in the airborne early warning version with a bulky radar housing under the fuselage. British machines differed from American ones mainly in the national insignia, the fuselage codes and the shades of the finish, and that is exactly what decal sheets of this kind hold.
Decals hold best on a smooth gloss base, so varnish the area under them with gloss varnish and let it mature. Cut the motif out as closely as possible to the artwork, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until the film starts to come free of the backing. On the model, support the seating with a setting solution and force the air out with a cotton bud from the middle to the edges. Once it is dry, go over the whole surface with a matte or semi-matte varnish, so that the edges of the carrier film disappear. On codes that run across panel lines and riveting it pays to apply the setting solution repeatedly and in thin coats.
This is an accessory set of decals, not a kit. The model, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
