An injection-molded plastic kit of the Space Wolf SW-190 space fighter craft in the personal rendering of the character Kei Yuki, a member of the crew of the ship Arcadia from the world of Space Pirate Captain Harlock. The kit belongs to the Creator Works line, in which the Japanese company Hasegawa works up the hardware from the work of comic and animated film authors. Besides the parts of the craft, the package also holds a figure of the pilot, a display base and decals with the markings of this particular rendering.
The Space Wolf SW-190 is a fictional single-seat space fighter craft. Its shapes deliberately derive from the Second World War piston fighter Focke-Wulf Fw 190 — hence the number in the designation. The nose suggesting a radial engine, the short stocky fuselage section and the canopy refer to the aviation original, while the rest of the structure already belongs to the space setting of the story. Kei Yuki is one of the main characters of the crew and in the story she flies this type of craft; her personal machine differs from the ordinary ones in its markings as well as its equipment.
The kit is molded in colored plastic, so it can be built even without painting, but the result is raised by a base coat and a fine accenting of the panel lines. Mask the canopy glazing before spraying and glue it with cement for clear parts, which does not cloud it. It is more convenient to paint the figure of the pilot before you seat her in the cockpit. Use a gloss base and a decal softener for the decals so that they settle onto the rounded surfaces. It pays to paint the display base dark — the model then shows to better advantage on it.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
