An injection-molded plastic kit of an early version of the Supermarine Spitfire in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Kovozavody Prostejov. This edition concentrates on export and foreign markings, including machines operated outside the home RAF and in the area of Egypt. The package contains gray and clear plastic parts, a decal sheet and color instructions.
The Spitfire Mk.Ia was among the first production Spitfires. It was powered by a liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 and was armed with eight wing machine guns of 7.7 mm caliber. Besides the RAF, the early Spitfires and their export versions appeared in the colors of other users as well, which gives the model an untraditional look compared with the classic British schemes.
The smaller scale and the fine parts will appreciate liquid cement for plastic and careful cleaning up. Apply gloss varnish before the decals; an airbrush and a primer are recommended. With the export schemes, pay attention to the different colors and national insignia, which differ from the standard British camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
