An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.Vb version in 1:72 scale from Smer. The box contains gray plastic parts, clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet. You recognize the Mk.Vb version by the b wing, which sets it apart from the universal c wing of the later Mk.Vc version.
The Spitfire Mk.V was one of the most widespread and most heavily used versions of this fighter. The Mk.Vb variant used the b wing with two cannons and four machine guns and was built in large numbers. It was used on many fronts and became one of the iconic forms of the Spitfire of the middle phase of the war. It was powered by the Merlin 45 engine and in its time it formed the backbone of British fighter aviation.
Join the parts with liquid cement for plastic, sand the seams and apply a base coat of primer. Mask the cockpit glazing carefully before painting. Spray the British camouflage with an airbrush with fine transitions and bring out the cockpit with its instrument panel before you close up the fuselage, so that the interior detail shows.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
