A resin accessory set from the manufacturer LP Models in 1:72 scale. It holds a boarding ladder to be brought up, in a form matching the earlier version, and wheel chocks. It is not a kit of the aircraft: it is ground equipment which stands beside a finished model and gives a scene both scale and a story. A ladder leaned against the side of the fuselage and chocks under the main landing gear turn a model standing on a base into an aircraft parked on the apron at once.
The Su-27 is a Soviet twin-engined heavy fighter aircraft intended originally for gaining air superiority. Characteristic of it is the blended layout of the airframe, in which the fuselage and the wing pass smoothly one into the other, the pair of engines in separate nacelles and the extensive glazing of the cabin. Because of the great height of the cabin above the ground, a ladder brought up is used for the pilot to board; its form differed on machines of various production periods. Wheel chocks are among the standard equipment of the apron with a machine as heavy as this.
First wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw; cutters will break the thin sections of the ladder off. Sanding wet and with your breathing protected. They are glued with super glue applied with a pin. Apply a primer before painting. The ladder and the chocks are usually not new: once the base shade has dried, bring the edges out with a dry brush, add scrapes and fine traces of rust and dust the lower part with pigment, so that the equipment merges visually with the surface of the apron.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
