A resin accessory set from the manufacturer LP Models in 1:72 scale. According to the name it holds the boarding ladder to be brought up on its own, in a form matching the later version, without wheel chocks and without a service ladder, which the manufacturer offers in the more extensive variants of the range. It is not a kit of the aircraft: it is equipment of the apron, which stands beside a finished model.
The Su-27 is a Soviet twin-engined heavy fighter aircraft intended for gaining air superiority. The airframe is dominated by the blended layout, in which the fuselage passes smoothly into the wing, by the pair of engines in separate nacelles and by the high-set cabin with a good view out. Precisely because of the height of the cabin above the ground, a ladder brought up is used for the pilot to board, and it is hooked onto the side of the fuselage. Its construction differed on machines of various production periods, and that is why the manufacturer offers the early and the late form separately.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw; cutters would break the thin rungs off. Do the sanding wet and with your airways protected. It is glued with super glue applied with a pin. Apply a primer before painting and only then the base shade. So that the ladder does not look freshly made, bring the edges out with a dry brush, add small scrapes and fine traces of corrosion where footwear rests against the structure, and dust the feet lightly with pigment. Before sticking it to the model, check dry that the ladder sits on the base and does not clash with the outline of the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
