The set belongs among the resin accessories for aircraft models in 1:72 scale. It holds a boarding ladder for the Su-33 and wheel chocks in the form for carrier-based machines. The set in itself is not a kit of the aircraft — it reckons with your already having a model of the Su-33 or acquiring one separately.
On the heavy fighters of the Su family a boarding ladder is brought up to the side of the forward part of the fuselage, so that the pilot gets into the cabin; chocks are placed under the wheels, so that the machine does not move on a stand or on deck. It is precisely these small things that make a credible scene out of a model standing on its own: the model stops looking like an exhibit on display and begins to look like an aircraft ready for flight. The Su-33 is a carrier-based fighter aircraft derived from the Su-27, adapted for operation from an aircraft carrier, so the equipment around it differs from the land versions.
First wash the resin castings in warm soapy water, so that the remnants of the mold release agent are removed — otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disk, never break them off; do the sanding wet and with your airways protected. Resin is glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic has no effect on it. Apply a thin filler primer before painting, spray the surfaces with an airbrush and bring the metal parts out with a dry brush. A wash run into the details and a fine application of pigments on the lower edges of the chocks will give the set a dusty, operational look.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
