A 1:72 vacuum-formed cockpit canopy for the Hawker Typhoon with teardrop glazing is a replacement clear part for a kit you have already bought, not a model. It is thinner and cleaner than a canopy in ordinary injected plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit. The item is a replacement clear part made by vacuum-drawing thin clear film, which takes the place of the cockpit canopy supplied in the kit. The main advantage is its smaller thickness and better optical clarity, so you really can see into the cockpit and it is worth working the interior up. The set is cut for one particular Brengun model and concerns the teardrop configuration of the canopy.
The part is first cut roughly out of the molding with scissors, leaving a margin, and only then sanded to the outline. A proven procedure is to trace the seating line with a marker, sand the excess away on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat board and keep testing the fit on the fuselage. Sand in short strokes and rather little at a time, because material taken off cannot be put back. Before gluing it pays to dip the canopy in clear gloss varnish, which fills microscopic scratches; it should be glued with a cement for clear parts that does not fog them.
Teardrop canopies look best in a small scale when their wall is as thin as possible. A thick plastic part optically shrinks the cockpit and refracts the image of the interior. A vacuum-formed piece removes that problem and at the same time makes it possible to build the cockpit open.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
