Aviattic 1:72 five-color night lozenge in the full width on white backing paper: a sheet intended above all for making rib tapes to go with the dark night coverings of First World War aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aviattic decal sheet in 1:72 scale with the dark night version of the German five-color polygonal print on fabric, printed in the full width of the pattern on white backing paper. According to the name it is intended above all for making rib tapes, the ideal companion to the night sheets for the upper and lower surfaces from the same range.
On the real machines the fabric was taped over at the ribs with narrow strips, often cut from the same printed cloth. With dark night coverings this detail is particularly rewarding, because the fine lines of the tapes give structure to an otherwise uniform dark area and add the fine drawing at scale that sets an informed build apart from the average.
A white backing ensures full coverage, so the tone of the tapes stays stable even over a dark covering. Cut the tapes with a sharp blade to a uniform width, lay them over the finished and clear coated base covering along the lines of the ribs and settle them with setting solutions. Finally even everything out with a coat of matte or semi-matte clear.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory rather than a kit of an aircraft. It is applied to a model as a particular build requires.
