An injection-molded plastic kit of a large collector's model of the British Vickers 7.7 mm (.303) machine gun, Model 1915 version, in 1:8 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The large scale brings out the mechanism of the weapon. The package also holds a display base with a plaque for an effective presentation of the finished model.
The Vickers machine gun is inseparably linked with Britain and the First World War. It was used in the air, on land and on the water and reached a rate of fire of around 600 rounds per minute. The Model 1915 version in its aircraft form served as onboard armament of the aircraft of the period.
Glue the parts with plastic cement. Painting is fairly straightforward, with a steel metal shade predominating, completed by wooden parts in a warm brown tone; the metal look will be helped by fine washes and light polishing of the edges for a worn effect. The model shows to advantage on the base supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
