A kit of the heavy tank E-100 in 1:87 scale, that is, in the size corresponding to H0 railway modeling. It comes from the manufacturer's limited-run range, which works with cast parts; check the exact composition of the package with the manufacturer. At this scale the whole model is only a few centimeters long, which makes demands on accuracy but at the same time makes it a rewarding object for a display case and for a model scene.
The E-100 was a German development project for a heavy tank from the end of the Second World War, part of the so-called Entwicklung series, which was to unify the design of armored vehicles into a few weight classes. By the end of the war construction had got no further than a partly built chassis; the vehicle was never completed or deployed and no turret was ever fitted to it. The model therefore shows the projected configuration with a turret of Krupp design, not an existing example. It is important to know that in advance: anyone looking for a model of a vehicle that was actually built will reach for another type.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and level the surfaces by wet sanding with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:87 scale paint thinly and with thinned paint so that the engraving stays legible; adapt the effects to the size, as a coarse wash or heavy chipping would overwhelm a model of this size. For accentuation a fine filter, a careful paneliner in the recesses and a light dust pigment on the running gear are enough.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
