This injection-molded plastic kit in the large 1:9 scale from the maker Italeri captures the legendary Italian scooter Vespa 125 Primavera. The model has rubber tires, color decals and a number of chrome-plated accessories, which give the finished scooter an authentic gleam. The large scale lets the shapes of the monocoque metal body and the small details come into their own nicely. The kit is rated as moderately demanding.
The Vespa Primavera 125 was introduced at the end of the 1960s and, thanks to an improved engine and better performance, it stayed popular in the following decade as well. To this day it is among the most sought-after Vespas among collectors and fans of the famous Italian brand. The characteristic monocoque body, the small wheels and the elegant lines made it an icon of urban mobility and a symbol of Italian style.
The smooth metal body of a scooter lives from a clean finish: spray over primer in thin layers and finish with a clear gloss coat. Assemble and paint the frame and the powertrain before closing the body up. On chrome-plated parts, first strip the chrome where they are to be glued, so that the joint holds. Fit the rubber tires only after varnishing and secure the decals with a softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
