Take note, this is not a kit, it is a working tool. This flat brush from AMMO of Mig Jimenez in size 1 has the same straight-cut shape as its larger siblings but a markedly narrower footprint. The fiber is synthetic and springy.
A large flat brush is fast, but on a small part it becomes a coarse tool: it goes over the edge of a hatch, carries paint into the engraving next door and, when drybrushing, colors a whole panel instead of one edge. Size 1 does the same thing on a small scale: it keeps a straight stroke on an area the size of a fingernail, outlines an individual hatch or cover and, when drybrushing, picks out only the detail you want. The price of that precision is a lower paint capacity: on large panels you will be painting for a long time and will leave transitions behind.
The manufacturer gives the fiber as resistant to solvents and usable with acrylic, enamel and oil paints. That is the main reason to reach for synthetic fiber for washes, varnishes and drybrushing: aggressive thinners gradually dry out and break natural hair.
For modelers who already have a large flat brush for areas and are missing the same thing for detail: hatches, small edges and fine drybrushing on the small parts of figures, aircraft and vehicles.
Paints, thinners and the model are not included in the package. When working with thinners and varnishes, ventilate and protect your skin.
