Four AIM-7E-2 Sparrow III air-to-air guided missiles in 1:32 scale as an accessory for models of the aircraft that carried this armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
The AIM-7 Sparrow is an American medium-range air-to-air guided missile with semi-active radar guidance. That means the target has to be illuminated by the radar of the carrier aircraft throughout the flight of the missile; the missile itself only picks up the reflected signal. The E-2 form came about with a view to combat at shorter range, where the earlier versions were hard to put to use. The Sparrow is carried either in semi-recessed bays on the underside of the fuselage or on wing pylons.
The package holds four missiles in 1:32 scale. At this scale the length of one missile comes out at around 11 cm, so these are prominent parts that substantially change the look of a finished model. Which kits and pylons the set will fit is given by the manufacturer's instructions, so try the parts dry before gluing.
The parts are not made of polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down; go carefully on the thin surfaces of the fins, as they break off easily. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. The missiles are painted as a whole before being fitted to the model, and are glued onto the pylon only at the very end, so that they are not in the way during the rest of the work.
The model of the aircraft, pylons, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
