An accessory from the maker Kits-World for the cockpit of a model in the large scale. The print of the instrument panel is in full color, has a three-dimensional structure and is printed on decal paper, so it is applied as a decal. It is neither a kit nor a part to be glued.

What is visible under a bubble cover

A model of this type has a cockpit covered by a one-piece clear part, under which the interior is visible practically in full. The instrument panel is at the same time the first thing the eye focuses on. Seat the design exactly on the surface of the cast part, then, check the outlines with a dry fit and note which way the print is meant to sit; once it is soaked there is no time left for consideration. It pays off to deal with the surroundings too: the side walls of the cockpit and the rear bulkhead should hold the same degree of sheen as the panel once varnished, otherwise the printed surface will jump out as a foreign feature.

Application

Sand the raised dials on the plastic part and smooth the surface, otherwise a layered print will not seat. Varnish the base with a gloss varnish. Soak the decal in warm water, transfer it with a brush, straighten it and push the water out from under it. Dose the softener drop by drop and with pauses, as a thick layer ripples if it is flooded. Once it is perfectly dry, go over the surroundings with a matte varnish and bring the individual glasses to life with a drop of gloss.
