This is not an aircraft model and not a resin seat. It is a sheet of color decals with a raised relief with which you add the belts, straps, control handles and seat cushion padding on the ejection seat of a 1:48 scale Hornet kit. The printing has shading and texture of its own, so once dry it reads like a fabric strap rather than a flat print.
A Hornet cockpit is built with an open canopy practically every time, and the seat is then the most conspicuous element of the whole interior. Molded belts on a plastic seat tend to be simplified in shape and are hard to paint, because the transition between strap and shell has no sharp edge. A color relief decal creates that transition by itself and, at a normal viewing distance, carries the whole impression of the cockpit.
The key is to sand the place where the belt will go perfectly smooth: any remains of the original relief will show under the decal as a lump. Then spray the seat with a dark base, because the decals are not fully opaque and a light base will show through. Apply gloss varnish over the dry base and only then the decal; a gloss surface prevents silvering under the film. Dose the softener drop by drop, let it work by itself and leave the decal undisturbed for at least 45 minutes; never run a brush over it, because a relief print is thicker than an ordinary decal and creases or tears easily under friction. Finish with a coat of matte varnish.
The box holds decals only. The seat, the kit, paints, varnish and decal softener have to be obtained separately.
