A finished instrument panel, rendered in color at the factory, for a model of the Bf-109F fighter in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for the build, not a kit, a decal or a mask.
The cockpit of a single-seat fighter is easy to look into in 1:32 scale, especially if you leave the canopy lifted. The plastic instrument panel from a kit tends to be done as a coarse relief with molded-in instruments that have to be painted out and completed with a decal. A finished panel replaces that step: the drawing of the dials, the lettering and the coloring are done, and all that remains is seating and gluing it. For modelers who lose patience with fine painting, it is the quickest way of lifting a cockpit to a usable level.
First try the part dry and check whether the plastic base needs sanding so that the panel seats without play. Glue it in spots with thick or gel cyanoacrylate; thin glue releases fumes that will fog the instrument glazing. Solvent cements for plastic will damage the panel and attack the factory color. When finishing the cockpit, do not spray matte varnish over the dials: the gloss of the glazing is exactly what gives the panel its depth.
Take care when searching: the manufacturer also makes other kinds of accessory for the same type under a very similar name, for example masks. Go by the kind of goods and the designation of the set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
