Acrylic Bases - Oval Pill 100x200mm (Legion)

The Oval Pill 100x200 mm Acrylic Base (Legion)

An oval base of acrylic with a footprint of 100x200 mm from the Spanish maker Green Stuff World. It is a base on its own, that is an accessory, not a model and not a kit. The elongated shape with straight sides and rounded ends is called a pill in English terminology and is a common format for large pieces in tabletop battle games; the Legion qualifier refers to the dimensional standard of bases used by one of the widespread game systems.

Use

• A foundation under a large model, a vehicle or a bulky figure in a game where movement is measured from the edge of the base.
• A replacement for a damaged or warped original base from the basic package.
• Acrylic is dimensionally stable, does not swell with damp and the edge stays clean without any further sanding.
• A model is stuck onto acrylic with cyanoacrylate or two-part epoxy; ordinary polystyrene cement does not work here.
• Before painting, degrease the surface and spray it with a primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on smooth acrylic.
• The surface can be finished with modeling sand, texture paste or grass clumps and turned into a small scene.

Who it is for

For players of tabletop battle games who need a base in a large format for a vehicle or a heavy unit, and for modelers who build figure tableaux in their own right and want a firm, flat foundation. Suitable too wherever the base is to be thinner and smoother than a fiberboard variant.

The base is supplied on its own. The model, paints, glue and scenic material are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
