An injection-molded plastic model of the heavy long-distance tractor unit Mercedes-Benz SK 1844 LS V8 in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The kit captures the sturdy cab and chassis of the SK series vehicle and offers a great deal of detail, among other things a multi-part V8 engine. The box contains rubber tires, decals for several versions and color instructions.
The Mercedes-Benz SK series (Schwere Klasse, the heavy class) represented the top of the marque's heavy truck range at the end of the 1980s. It followed directly on from the older NG series with an improved cab adapted for long-distance haulage. The designation 1844 refers to the weight class and the output; the letters LS denote a tractor unit. At the end of the 1990s the SK series was replaced by the first generation of the Actros.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; treat the cab with a primer before painting. Spray the gloss finish of the cab with an airbrush in thin coats and lay the decals onto a smooth base, clear-coating over them if you wish. Assemble and paint the V8 engine, the chassis and the frame separately; glue the chrome parts (bumper, exhaust, tanks, grille) and the clear ones (glazing, headlights) at the end so that they do not fog. Fit the rubber tires once the axles are finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
