This is a resin figure in 1:32 scale, that is an accessory to an aircraft model and not an aircraft kit. The figure represents a member of the ground crew of the German air service of the First World War. In 1:32 scale the figure stands about 5.5 centimeters tall, a size at which the folds of the clothing and the footwear already read, so the figure changes the effect of a display case considerably: it gives the model scale and shows how large the machine really was.
The casting is in resin, it is supplied unpainted and, depending on the version, it may be split into a torso and separate limbs or a separate head.
Wash the figure in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and wet-sand the mold seams away, above all on the face and on the edges of the clothing. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and the gaps between the parts are filled with putty. Apply a primer, ideally a light gray one, which brings out the shapes. The working clothing of ground crew is painted in muted earth and gray-blue shades; build the modeling up with a dark wash into the folds and a dry brush of a lighter tone on the edges. Build the skin up from a base tone through a wash to lighter layering, never in a single coat. Seal the leather items with a semi-matte varnish, so that they stand apart from the cloth.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the aircraft model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
