An interior accessory for models of British aircraft of the First World War in 1:32 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft but a wicker seat on its own in the form with a perforated back, that is with an opening in the back part, and without a leather pad. According to the name the package includes the short as well as the tall variant.
A perforated back is an even harder task for a plastic mold than a full one: a cut-out opening would have to be formed around a core, or else it does not arise at all, so the part from the box tends to be blind with the opening merely suggested by engraving. The result is that exactly the element by which the seat is recognized disappears. A separately made resin part really does have the opening, together with thin walls and a three-dimensional weave. For an open cockpit in 1:32 scale that means there is a view through the back the way there should be, and that is a difference even a layman notices without knowing why.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a detergent because of the release agent. Separate them from the carrying block with a fine saw; around the pierced opening the material is at its thinnest, so work there with particular care and do not sand needlessly. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in small doses. The painting: an ocher or straw base, a brown wash that will run between the strands and emphasize the outline of the opening, and a light dry brush with a lighter paint. Because there is a view through the back, it pays to paint the area behind the seat as well, otherwise an empty dark place will arise. Close with a matte varnish.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
