1:35 Totenkopf grenadier Demjansk no. 1 is a resin figure of a German grenadier in 1:35 from the PANZER ART brand. The marking in the name describes the execution of the uniform and the equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
A separate figure of a German grenadier in 1:35, cast in modeling resin. It is not a kit nor an add-on for a vehicle, but a figure for completing a finished model or a diorama. The marking no. 1 tells a particular pose apart within the series — sister items exist under further numbers and under the marking set, and they can be combined into one scene.
The execution as a painting task
For a modeler this figure is above all an exercise in the cut and the material of the clothing: a long greatcoat and layered equipment form large continuous areas interspersed with sharp folds, so shading and drybrushing both stand out. A resin casting holds a finer surface texture than injection-molded plastic, so the stitching, the straps and the small fittings are all readable. The pose is static and carries well both on its own and beside equipment.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap first — otherwise the remains of mold release agent keep the paint from adhering. Cut the casting blocks off at the mold seam line with a saw or a knife and level the faces with a file; sand the resin wet and with your airways protected. Glue with super glue and fill the seams with filler. After a thin primer, build the clothing from a darker ground to lighter crests of the folds; handle any camouflage pattern as a painting job in three steps — the base tone, the patches and finally the softening of the transitions with thinned paint. Build the face with glazes of flesh shades. In closing, bring the recesses out with a thin dark glaze and knock the surface down with a matte clear coat.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
