Flame Red RAL3000 from Number Five is the flame red that the standard has in the name of the shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
Most of the line names its shades after stables and cars, while this one declares itself to the number of the color standard given directly in the name: RAL 3000, in German Feuerrot. A customer thus knows in advance what subject the color aims at.
RAL 3000 is the classic red of utility and emergency vehicles. It is worn by fire engines of German provenance, from older Magirus machines to newer tankers, and along with them by fire extinguishers, hydrants and fire protection equipment. Against the signal shades from the same standard, which are carried as fluorescent, it is a calmer and deeper red. It is exactly from it that the whole look of a fire service diorama unfolds: when the red sits on a body, everything else around it will then sit too. The number in the name moreover has a practical advantage that names after cars do not have: by it a customer recognizes the subject even before seeing a color chart.
For modelers who need a red given by a number and not by an estimate from a photograph. It suits as well where more than one machine meets in a single scene and the color has to be uniform across them. The standard is given directly in the name of the shade, and it is tied to no other system. Feuerrot is held by warning plates, hydrant cabinets and the marking of escape routes too, so it suits the small equipment around a vehicle as well.
