Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III Ausf. G is the final and most numerous version of the German assault gun built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw III tank. The gun is mounted rigidly in a low box superstructure and is aimed by turning the whole vehicle, which was the price paid for a low silhouette. The front of the superstructure went through several forms during production: older machines carried a welded angular gun mantlet, later ones a rounded one. Besides the shield, the muzzle brake of the gun changed as well, so the shield and the brake together reveal which production period a vehicle comes from.
A replacement welded gun mantlet and a 7.5 cm gun barrel ending in a muzzle brake of the mid form, both for a model in 1:35 scale. The barrel is a turned part with an accurate round section along its whole length and an open muzzle; you do not have to glue it together or level out lengthwise production marks on it, which shows at first glance on a part this long and prominent.
Cut the original barrel off a little behind the root, level the cut surface and widen the opening in the front of the superstructure carefully with a round file as needed. Try the assembly dry, check that it is true to the axis from the side and from above, and only then glue it on with a small amount of super glue. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and apply a thin coat of primer, as without it the paint holds poorly on a smooth surface.
The vehicle kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
