Sandbag armor for the Valentine Mk III in 1:35 scale from PANZER ART. Improvised protection shaped for one particular vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of cast improvised sandbag armor for the British Valentine Mk III infantry tank in 1:35 scale. The parts are shaped to particular areas of the vehicle, so all you do is seat them and fill the seam. Modeling the individual bags by hand from putty is a job for several evenings and the result tends to come out uneven.
The Valentine was a British infantry tank, that is a machine built for endurance and for escorting infantry rather than for speed. It was reliable, simple and built in large numbers, including deliveries to the Soviet Union. As on other types, the crews added improvised protection of sandbags, logs or spare track links.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and try the fit dry. Bond with super glue and fill the seam against the armor, so that the bags do not look merely laid on. Paint the canvas flat and let the shades between the bags vary slightly. Apply a dark wash into the folds and dry brush the raised edges.
The set is an accessory to a kit and does not replace the kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
