Sandbag armor for the Humber Mk III armored car in 1:35 scale is a resin accessory from PANZER ART. It is not a kit of the vehicle but castings of improvised hull protection.

This set is not a model of the armored car but an accessory that adds improvised sandbag protection to a finished model. The resin castings capture the sag and irregularity of the individual bags, the way they press against one another and the texture of the fabric. Injection molded plastic manages these shapes with difficulty, because every bag has an irregular outline and soft transitions. The set is shaped to sit on a particular vehicle, not as a universal pile.
The Humber Armoured Car Mk III was a British armored car of the Second World War, used for reconnaissance and liaison duties. Its armor was sized to protect against small arms rounds and splinters, not against antitank weapons. Crews therefore commonly added protection in the field by improvised means, among other things with sandbags stacked on the front of the hull and on the sides. It was a widespread practical modification, thanks to which a vehicle with sandbags is immediately recognizable as a machine from the field rather than from a training ground.
Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap and cut the casting blocks off with a saw. Try the assembly dry and fill any gaps between the bags and the hull with filler, so that the protection does not look like a block glued on. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). After the primer, paint the sandbag cloth in muted beige and grayish tones, shading them slightly against one another, because a pile all in one color looks unnatural. A dark wash brings out the gaps between the bags and a dry brush pulls out the texture of the fabric. At the end, add dust and any wear in the places where the crew leaned on the bags or climbed over them.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
