This is a colored interior 3D decal from Quinta for the kit of the Mi-35M attack helicopter in 1:72 scale (made for the Zvezda kit). It is not a helicopter model but a detail set that adds instrument panels, side consoles, seats and small controls to both the pilot and the operator stations. The embossed print with its color finish gives the dials recessed faces and the switches a three-dimensional look; the dials are usually covered with gloss for a glass effect.
The Mi-35M is the modernized export version of the heavy Mi-24 (Hind) attack helicopter. It combines the attack role with the ability to carry an assault squad. It has a new rotor system, shortened stub wings, day and night sighting systems and reworked avionics. A number of armed forces around the world operate it.
Cut the parts out with a sharp knife, soak them in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide them off the backing paper. Because of the small scale, work with tweezers and plenty of light. Paint the cockpit surfaces a dark color beforehand and coat them with gloss varnish; a matte base is a mistake, as the part has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss, and in broken-up places a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, Quinta forbids them: they attack the printed resin and ruin the part.
A detail set, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
