Resin replacement wheels in 1:35 scale for the Italian Lancia 3Ro heavy truck, this time in the form with the off-road tread known as Libia. The set is not a model of the vehicle, it is an exchange of wheels on a kit already built. It differs from the variant with the civilian road tread precisely in the tire pattern, so these are two separate goods.
The Lancia 3Ro was an Italian heavy truck with a diesel engine, put into service both as a transport and as a tractor platform. Vehicles meant for soft, sandy and stony ground were given tires with a markedly coarser pattern than the road form, so that they held better in loose terrain. The choice of tread is therefore one of the most noticeable features by which a particular vehicle is modeled, and yet plastic wheels from the box usually offer only one variant.
Wash the wheels in warm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the mating surface so that the model stands straight. Before gluing, try the stance on a flat board. It is glued with super glue. On an off-road tread it pays to paint in two steps: first a dark base in the form of a very dark gray with a brown cast, then a dry brush a shade lighter across the edges of the pattern, so that the depth of the grooves stands out. Most of the dust and mud then belongs in the grooves, because that is where it really collects. Paint the rim separately and unify the whole wheel at the end with a light layer of dust working from the bottom up.
This is a resin accessory, not a complete kit. The wheels are supplied unpainted; paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
