This is a resin accessory, not a kit of the tank. The set holds road wheels for the American M4 Sherman medium tank in 1:35 scale and is meant to be swapped for the parts from the base plastic kit. It is made by the Polish brand PANZER ART, which has long specialized in cast accessories for armored vehicles. The designation pattern No. 5 tells this set from the other wheel variants of the same range, because Shermans used several different types of wheel both in production and in the field.
The road wheels of the M4 Sherman are among the parts that differed most between individual makers and production batches. Besides solid cast wheels there were wheels with cutouts, with a pressed disc and later strengthened types for HVSS suspension. Period photographs moreover show vehicles on which various patterns were combined at once, because they were changed during ordinary maintenance. That is exactly why swapping the wheels is one of the most effective ways to give a Sherman model a particular and credible character.
Wash the resin parts in warm water with dish soap first, so that the remains of the mold release agent are removed, as otherwise the paint holds worse. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw or a cutter, sand the rest down and protect your airways while sanding. Resin is not bonded by modeling cement for plastic, so use super glue. Glue the wheels on so that their axes lie in one plane, as otherwise the model will not sit down on its base. Paint over a primer coat, set the rubber treads apart with a dark shade and work the surface at the end with dust pigments and mud effects.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
