A resin add-on set in 1:35 scale from ELEFANT. These are idler wheels for one model of the Jagdpanzer 38 tank destroyer in the early pattern of the Prague BMM works, not a kit of the vehicle. The castings are used as a direct replacement for the plastic wheels from the base kit and deal with the differences in shape by which early production differed from the later batches.
The Jagdpanzer 38 was a German light tank destroyer on a reworked chassis of the Panzer 38(t) light tank, with a 7.5 cm gun in a steeply sloped front plate. Series production ran from 1944 in two works - in Prague and in Pilsen - and the individual works as well as the individual batches differed in small details, among them the pattern of the idler wheel at the rear of the running gear. Early examples of Prague production had a wheel of a different shape from the later vehicles, so choosing the right variant is one of the ways to place a model in time.
Before the build, wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and dress the area with a file; do the sanding wet or with respiratory protection. Resin is glued with super glue, cement for plastic does not hold on it. Try the wheel dry first and set its position so that the track seats in the right place and has a natural sag. After the primer, paint it together with the rest of the running gear; a final dust and mud from pigments gives the running gear depth.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
