A resin correction set in 1:35 scale from ELEFANT. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a set of parts with which a plastic model is reworked into the Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf. K command tank built on the early chassis of the Panzer III in the J and L versions. The correction set deals with the shapes that differ on the command version from an ordinary combat vehicle, and it is intended for more experienced modelers - it assumes reworking of the plastic parts, not merely their replacement.
The Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf. K was the command version of the Panzer III tank from the turn of 1942 and 1943. Unlike the older command tanks, which had a dummy in place of the gun and extended radio equipment in the turret space, the K version received a large turret with a combat-capable 5 cm gun. The commander thus had a full weapon at his disposal and the vehicle was not recognizable as a command tank at first glance in combat. Only a few dozen were built and they were put together on the chassis of ordinary Panzer III versions, which differed from each other in hull details.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc, dress the area with a file and do the sanding wet or with a respirator. It is glued with super glue, cement for plastic does not hold on resin. With a correction set the dry fit is the key step: first work out what you will cut away from the plastic model, and only then cut. Apply a primer before painting that unifies the resin with the plastic - without it the resulting shade tends to come out slightly different on the two materials.
The set is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
