The civilian hat set in 1:35 scale from J's Work is a resin accessory for figures and dioramas. It is neither a standalone model nor a figure.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an add-on set of civilian headgear in 1:35 scale, cast in resin. It is neither a model nor a figure but a set of small parts used when converting figures and when building dioramas. The castings are fine enough to have a thin brim and legible texture, which is usually not possible on parts molded in plastic.
A civilian hat is the quickest way to turn a soldier into a civilian and to bring a town or village inhabitant into a scene. It also serves as a prop detail set aside, that is a hat on a table, on a peg, on the bed of a cart or on the ground. Small things like that are what make a diorama believable, because they suggest that someone moves about in the scene.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife or a fine saw; on thin brims it is better to cut in stages so that the edge does not break. Then wash the surface in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise a primer will not hold on the mold release residue. When you fit a hat on the head of an existing figure, sand the original hair or headgear on the figure flat so that the hat seats without a gap. Bond with super glue and fill any gap with two-part putty. Painting is easier beforehand, off the figure: a thin primer, the base shade, a darker glaze in the shadow under the brim and a lighter drybrush on the edge of the brim. Felt looks better matte, so finish with a matte varnish and a light dusting.
The set contains add-on parts only. Figures, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
