A figure piece in cast resin in 1:24 scale. It is not a kit in the usual sense: the parts are cleaned up, put together and prepared for paint, and from that moment on it is the work of a painter. The name suggests a scene rather than just a figure, so besides the figure you also work with the surrounding elements of the scene, and it is precisely balancing them against each other that makes this piece a more interesting task than a bust on its own.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry completely; mold release agent that has not been washed off is the most frequent cause of paint rubbing away. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and level the trace they leave with fine abrasive paper; sand wet and with respiratory protection. Parting lines show up under side lighting. Try the fit dry, then glue the joints with cyanoacrylate glue and fill the seams with modeling filler, which you sand perfectly smooth once dry.
After a thin primer, work out what is to be the main thing: the figure needs the purest tones and the highest contrast, and the surrounding elements should be more muted, otherwise the scene will pull the attention away. Build the skin and the face in 1:24 scale in thin coats, but with a somewhat sharper difference between light and shadow, so that the figure does not flatten out at a distance. Stone and rough surfaces respond rewardingly to a wash into the crevices and a dry brush along the edges; a restrained pigment weathering at the foot of the scene can be added as well. Paint the individual parts separately while they can still be turned, and put them together only at the end. Mount the finished whole on the base.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, primer and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
