The TKS was an improved version of an earlier tankette, and at a small scale it represents one of the smallest armored vehicles that can be stood in a display case. That is exactly why it suits an addition to larger types and a comparison of sizes.
In the interwar period a tankette was a cheap and very small tracked vehicle for reconnaissance, liaison and infantry escort. The Polish TKS grew out of an earlier design, improving on it in armor, engine and observation devices. The crew was two men, the basic armament was a machine gun, and some of the vehicles were later rearmed with a heavier weapon. Its dimensions and low silhouette were an advantage in reconnaissance; the thin protection and cramped interior remained a limitation.
A small vehicle in 1:100 scale is small even by the standards of this category, so work with tweezers and over a light surface, on which small parts are easily found. Sand the parting lines down with very fine paper and apply the glue with the tip of a toothpick or a thin wire. Apply a thin primer before painting. Polish prewar schemes were multicolored, but at a small scale a soft transition between shades comes off better than hard edges. Keep the patina restrained; one discreet wash and light dust on the running gear are enough.
