A resin accessory set from LACI in 1:144 scale for a model of the Boeing 737-200 powered by Pratt & Whitney JT8D-15 engines. The parts replace sections from the plastic kit and make it possible to build the aircraft with the high-lift devices opened out, that is in the state of approach to landing. The package does not contain a model of the airplane and assumes the kit you already have.
The 737-200 was the stretched version of the original 737 and became the first truly widespread member of the series. It was powered by low-bypass JT8D turbofan engines in long slender nacelles that sat tight against the wing. The JT8D-15 variant was among the more powerful versions used on the Advanced form. The wing of these machines has its own arrangement of high-lift devices, so the set is not interchangeable with accessories for the later Classic or Next Generation series.
First wash the resin castings in warm water with detergent, because otherwise neither primer nor paint will stay on residue of mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a disc and level the surface by damp sanding with breathing protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The dry trial is essential: the trailing edge of the wing usually has to be thinned, so that the extended parts follow on at the right angle and no step appears.
The set contains resin parts and is supplied unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
